The death has occurred of Fr. Michael Sheedy, Kilmacduane, Cooraclare, and Kilrush Parish, on Wednesday 3rd November. We extend our sympathy and think of his family, his many friends, and colleagues throughout the diocese.
Fr Michael, a native of Cooraclare, was ordained in 1965. He spent 3 years in Dromore Diocese followed by a term in Birmingham.
In 1972 Fr. Michael was appointed to Nenagh where he remained until his appointment to Kilrush in 1989.
Fr Michael Sheedy will be sadly missed by his brothers Rev Patrick Sheedy Florida, Dan, Barney, Joe, John and sisters Maura, Breda, Anna, Concepta, Rita and Bernie, nieces, nephews, brothers in law, sisters in law, neighbours, friends and his parishioners in Kilrush, Monmore, Knockerra and Kilimer. The funeral cortege will leave his home in Kilmacduane at 1 pm arriving for 2 pm mass in St Senans Church Kilrush on Saturday the 6th of November, burial afterwards in Kilrush Church grounds. Family flowers only, please. Due to COVID restrictions numbers will be restricted in the church. Please observe Government COVID guidelines.
